Tom works with Toby, which means most days involve buyers, campaigns, appointments, follow up and a fair amount of time in the car.

He actually likes that bit.

Tom reckons car time is productive time. Calls get made. Buyers get followed up. Things get sorted. Toby’s demerit points remain under active protection.

Before real estate, Tom spent years in hospitality, including several years as GM of one of Newcastle’s best-known pubs. Which means he already knows a fair bit about people, pressure and keeping things moving when there are plenty of competing demands.

That experience has followed him.

He also has a habit of finding the little things that need doing before anyone asks. Sometimes that’s sales support. Sometimes it’s changing the bin liner. Apparently, both matter.

Lunch has become another point of interest around the office. Tom tends to bring in something worth looking at, which has resulted in a small but persistent audience appearing nearby.

Outside work, sport takes up a lot of room. Golf, NFL, and an ongoing argument with his partner over who is actually more athletic.

No result has been accepted.

Previous life: Hospitality. Enough said.

Current transport policy: Let Toby drive. Monitor the points.

Office mystery: Why his lunches now have spectators.
