That Warehouse Sale

15 FEBRUARY 2022

There was a lot of attention around the sale of the big red warehouse in Islington.

For sales agent Roland Campos, it confirmed the LaneCampos ethos that real estate is knowing the buyers in the market and the properties that suit them. Roland says "sellers want you to bring specific buyers through their door. It’s like playing match-maker"

How did buyers respond to the property?

RC: This property was a one-off. I haven't seen anything like it before, or since. It was one of those properties that suited a very niche market. However, once you met the property in person, it would pull on your heartstrings and your imagination would run wild.

What was it about this particular warehouse?

RC: This property appealed to our buyers because of its size and stunning mix of old-and-new aesthetics. It’s a space where you can mix business with home in the most imaginative way - a truly versatile space with many options to create the perfect workspace while having a bespoke residence with its own grassed yard and stunning living areas.

Who was being attracted to the property during the campaign?

RC: It was an exciting mix of people who were after a unique space that would work well with blending their work and home lifestyles.

We had marketing creatives, makers, yoga instructors and designers. The owners created a space that lent itself to be a daily source of inspiration, so it made sense to see who was booking in for the private inspections.

Do you see this demand happening with other property types?

RC: Yes. I see it happen with homes that have a real unique quality all the time. Renovations with a distinctive flair or homes where the owners have respected the original period features draw a clientele specifically seeking these qualities. When we have something special coming up for sale, we typically know a specific group of clientele to take those listings straight to.

This just highlights the emotional side of buying and selling property.

Other interesting sales that we have recently had include:

16 Pisces Ave, Elermore Vale with Bec Williams, a gorgeous family retreat, was the most viewed listing in the surrounding area on realestate.com during the campaign period. With 50+ buyers inspecting it just before the holiday season kicked off, it sold for $1,115,000.

Dave Lane loved working with his clients during the sale of a stunning period home at 1 Tighe Street, Waratah. Selling in a heartbeat this home was snapped up by its new owners for $1,350,000.

Anne Alexander just sold 198 Gosford Road, Adamstown for the clients who previously purchased it from her. It’s always great when we are able to support people with their first purchase, then their first house sale and achieve a great price at $820,000.
